I had previously ran a post on how to installing team foundation server plug-in for Eclipse. While I personally do not prefer to use Eclipse, there wasn’t much choice in the past.
However, it is now time to rejoice as Microsoft has finally released a tfs plugin for IntelliJ and Android Studio. And since visual studio online (VSO) provides unlimited private git repositories, it is a good time to make full use of this plugin.
The plugin is available at IntelliJ Plugin Repository which you may find within IntelliJ.
To install the plugin on a Mac, head over to Android Studio > Perference… > Plugins.
Once you are at the Plugins tab, click on “Browse repositories…” and search for “visual studio”
Restarting the IDE is required after installing the plugin.
Once the plugin is installed, you would need to authenticate with the server that you want to commit to. Thereafter the features are very similar to very other git tools.
For now, the plugin is supported on IntelliJ Community and Ultimate versions 14 and 15 together with Android Studio version 1.2-1.5.
